The Duke Echocardiographic Core Laboratory provides protocol
design, management, interpretation, and analysis for clinical
trials using echocardiography.
Each year, the Lab performs more than 18,000 echocardiograms
in support of the cutting-edge medical research conducted
at the DCRI and Duke University Medical Center.
The substantial infrastructure of the Lab includes digital
recording and archiving, a dedicated clinical research organization,
and a highly experienced staff of physicians and sonographers.
The laboratory has provided comprehensive core laboratory
support for national and international clinical trials of
all sizes. This experience includes large multicenter trials
involving heart failure, coronary artery disease, renal failure,
echocardiographic contrast agents, endocarditis and fenfluramine-associated
valvular regurgitation.
