David Whellan, MD, MHS
Associate Director, Cardiac Safety ECG Services
Dr. David Whellan is the Associate Director of ECG Cardiac Safety for the Core Lab at DCRI and an ECG faculty member. He is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, where he is also the director of clinical trial outcomes for the Department of Medicine, director of clinical research for the Jefferson Heart Institute, and director of the Jefferson Clinical Trial Group, an academic research organization.
Dr. Whellan received his Master of Health Sciences from Duke University and his MD from Washington University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in clinical cardiology at Duke University and the Duke Clinical Research Institute. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology.
Dr. Whellan is an associate editor for American Heart Journal, and a reviewer for Archives of Internal Medicine, Medical Care, and American Journal of Cardiology. He has lectured in various national venues on heart failure and is author or co-author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, reviews, abstracts and book chapters.
