The DCRI has used Phase Forward, Inc.'s Clintrial® and Clintrace® applications since 1997 for data management and safety tracking and reporting. Phase Forward has long been the market leader in electronic data capture (EDC) solutions.

In 2004, the DCRI entered into a multiyear agreement with Phase Forward to use its Web-based InForm™ application for EDC in future clinical trials. Phase Forward is now serving as the DCRI’s preferred application service provider (ASP) for EDC while a technology transfer is being completed.

With the Phase Forward systems, the DCRI benefits from streamlined data collection and cleaning, real-time data access and effective trial control and management, automated edit checks, and online query creation, resolution, and tracking. The system ensures that clinical data comply with all regulatory standards, including 21 CFR Part 11.
