VIGOUR

The VIrtual coordinating center for Global cOllaborative cardiovascUlar Research (VIGOUR) is a global network of coordinating centers and investigators experienced in the conduct of large cardiovascular clinical trials.

It arose from a collaboration of investigators participating in the international Global Utilization of Streptokinase and TPA for Occluded Coronary Arteries (GUSTO-I) trial, a 41,000-patient study that began in 1990. The group's reach now extends to main coordinating centers in North and South America, Europe, and Australasia. Such a network ensures that even global trials can receive the benefits of experienced local leadership.

The extensive experience of the VIGOUR organization is reflected in the optimized design of new trials, which ensures that they meet the stated scientific objectives and arrive at credible conclusions by the most efficient means possible.
