Aimee L. Turner, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Aimee L. Turner, CPA brings to the DCRI more than 25 years of financial leadership experience in the research and higher education sectors, with considerable knowledge and expertise in strategic financial management, accounting, pre- and post-award management of government grants and contracts, and compliance. As CFO, she is responsible for working with the executive team to define overall strategic goals, communicating financial results, preparing annual operating and capital budgets, providing recommendations regarding major financial decisions, and overseeing the implementation of financial policy decisions.
Prior to joining the DCRI, Turner was executive director of enterprise financial accounting and university controller for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also served as associate vice president and university controller for Cornell University and worked in the nonprofit research sector as chief financial officer and treasurer for the J. Craig Venter Institute.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, MD, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
