Dr. Alexander graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine. After completing her residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, she returned to Duke for a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and joined the DCRI faculty in 1998.
Alexander's research focuses on cardiovascular disease management and outcomes in special populations, specifically women and the elderly. Her current research interests include seeking to optimize diagnostic tests, specifically treadmill testing, for specific patient populations by use of computer based algorithms.
