Senior Director, Clinical Trials Domain
Pamela Buchholz joined the DCRI in 2011 as the director of Operations for the Imaging Program. Since that time, she has made a significant contribution to the program’s growth and success by creating a more robust operational infrastructure and cohesive operational teams. Buchholz provides clinical, operational, research, and business oversight for the Duke Clinical Research Unit and the Integrated Clinical Events – Safety Surveillance programs.
Buchholz has worked in patient care, clinical research, and business management for more than 20 years. Originally from Scotland, she previously served as chief cardiac physiologist, working in both the National Health System and private health sector in the U.K. She then served as director of operations and subsequently, managing director of a core lab that specialized in cardiac and pulmonary data services for clinical trials, with accountability for all aspects of the company’s global business and financial performance. Buchholz spent several years as vice president of the cardiology division for a U.S. cardiac device/equipment manufacturer, focusing on strategic planning, development, and leadership. Prior to joining the DCRI, she was a senior director and therapeutic lead for cardiology in project management with i3 Research.
