A new partnership with leading global healthcare company Novo Nordisk and the Duke Clinical Research Institute aims to drive change in cardiovascular disease — the most common cause of death worldwide.
Acting on its purpose to defeat diabetes and serious chronic diseases by expanding their commitment in areas of high unmet need, Novo Nordisk entered the partnership with the DCRI to build their expertise in cardiovascular disease (CVD). CVD impacts millions of people worldwide, and the partnership is driven by a motivation to produce first-in-class therapies capable of meeting the patients’ urgent medical needs.
As an academic clinical research organization, DCRI unites the clinical expertise and academic leadership of a premier teaching hospital with the capabilities of a full-service contract research organization. The DCRI’s teams of faculty and operational experts provide independence, scientific leadership and collaborative approaches to look at research challenges differently.
