Heather Heavlin, MSN, RN, is a Project Leader in the Clinical Events Classification (CEC) Department at Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI).  Heather has been with DCRI since 2014. Heavlin has experience in industry and government clinical trial start-up and execution, collaboration with CROs, and project management. Heavlin is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Hospital College in Orlando, Florida and a Master of Science in Nursing in Clinical Research Management and Administration from Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, North Carolina. She has worked as a Registered Nurse at Duke University Medical Center since 1997.  Prior to her role at DCRI, Heavlin worked at Duke University Medical Center in Adult Oncology, Adult and Pediatric Surgery, specializing in Urologic, Gynecologic, and General Surgery, and Phase I-IV clinical research, including Gynecologic and Breast Oncology, as well as Population Health focused research.
