The Duke Clinical Research Institute's (DCRI) podcast "Beyond the Endpoint" returns for its second season to address some of the most pressing health questions facing both listeners and the research community.
Hosted by DCRI faculty members Emily O'Brien, PhD, and Manesh Patel, MD, the new season continues the podcast's mission to demystify clinical research and healthcare through conversations with leading experts. Episodes tie back to practical takeaways that listeners can apply to their own lives.
The second season begins with an episode featuring Lauren Franz, MBChB, MPH, interim director of the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development. She shares insights into the evolution of autism research, the role of genetics and environment, and innovative approaches using artificial intelligence for earlier detection of autism.
Throughout the second season, hosts O'Brien and Patel will delve into other important topics, such as obesity, the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, behavioral research, and colorectal cancer. Additionally, they will periodically dive "Beyond the Headlines" to provide research-based insights on current health-related news stories.
