Carly Brantner, PhD
Carly Brantner, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and a member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute. She earned her PhD in biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2024. Dr. Brantner's research develops statistical methods for drawing valid conclusions from real-world data sources, including electronic health records, mobile health applications, and wearable devices, with a focus on estimating how treatment effects vary across individuals. Her work spans women's health, pediatric health, and team science, and includes serving as principal investigator on a Duke ORBIT Hub pilot grant studying menstrual-tracking app data and as a data science consultant to the U.S. Soccer Federation.
