Emily O'Brien

Emily O'Brien, PhD, is a leading epidemiologist and health outcomes researcher at Duke University where she serves as associate professor in Population Health Sciences and Neurology. As director of Population Health Sciences at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, she investigates how different treatments affect patient outcomes in cardiovascular and pulmonary disease. O'Brien has published over 190 peer-reviewed papers and leads multiple federally funded research projects. She serves as associate editor for Circulation: Cardiovascular Quality and Outcomes and is a fellow of the American Heart Association.
