Hemang Maniar joined the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) as Chief Research Technology Officer in September 2024. In this role, he oversees the Technology and Data Solutions functional group, driving the creation of innovative digital methods to enhance DCRI’s research portfolio and maintain its leadership in the clinical trials space.
With over two decades of experience as a technology executive, Maniar brings a wealth of expertise from his tenure at The Emmes Company, LLC, where he most recently served as Chief Information Officer. At Emmes, Maniar was pivotal in transforming the organization into a premier digital specialty contract research organization. His leadership in technology innovation, operational excellence, and clinical trial transformation was instrumental in the company’s success.
Maniar has a proven track record of managing profit and loss, product roadmaps, architecture, development, delivery, and support of an integrated eClinical platform utilized in over 1000 studies. His expertise spans enterprise strategy, technical management, operations, cybersecurity, and cloud services. Maniar's collaborative approach and strategic vision have driven business and information technology alignment, streamlined operations, and fueled global growth across all areas of business.
Maniar holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Sadar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai and a master’s in computer science from Mississippi State University.
