
Matthew Healy joined the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) in September 2025 and will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer in November 2025. In this role, he will lead all DCRI operations in support of clinical trials and studies, including the Operations Management Team, and DCRI's operations improvement initiatives.
Previously, Healy served as Executive Vice President of Global Clinical Operations at Rho, Inc., where he oversaw project management, clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, and trial master file operations, helping to scale the organization and elevate operational excellence during a period of rapid growth. His career also includes leadership roles at Premier Research and PRA International, building on more than 20 years of comprehensive experience across the clinical research field.
Healy is especially passionate about bridging academic rigor with operational innovation and is known for building high-performing teams while cultivating a culture of transparency, accountability, and shared leadership. His expertise spans multiple therapeutic areas, with particular strength in managing complex clinical trials from inception to completion.
Throughout his career, Healy has established himself as a strategic clinical research operations leader with extensive experience managing relationships with pharmaceutical companies, regulatory bodies, and research institutions. His expertise in aligning operational excellence with business growth has been a valuable asset to the clinical research community.
Healy holds a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology (Neuropsychology) from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from The Catholic University of America. He is a Certified Clinical Research Professional (ACRP).
