Research Data Authorization Learning Center

Research Data Authorization (RDA) is a tool based on the CMS Blue Button Application Programming Interface (API) that allows study participants to share their Medicare health data with approved research studies. Through RDA, participants—using controlled means—can provide both retrospective and longitudinal Medicare data to better healthcare and research. For study teams, this tool offers a compliant, streamlined interface for managing participants and Medicare data to further enhance the effectiveness of data collection and event adjudication.
